Reunited TOXIK Working On New Material
October 5, 2008Reunited progressive thrashers TOXIK have issued the following update:
"TOXIK would like to announce a few points of interest to all the fans that have single-handedly kept the name and sounds of TOXIK alive and thrashing for more than 20 years after the original releases!!
"As you all probably know already, the band has been getting together on occasion for the past 18 months now with the intent of having a reunion and bringing you both NEW material AND live performance.
"The Displeased release of 'Dynamo Open Air 1988' DVD is out and available at most online music retailers and on eBay as well (as well as re-issues of both albums from Displeased and Metal Mind Records). It includes the entire Dynamo festival show as well as the Dynamo club gig on the first night of the tour. A limited edition of the DVD includes a CD of the festival performance.
"Josh [Christian, guitar], Mike [Sanders, vocals] and Lou [Calderola, drums] had continued work on three ALL-NEW TOXIK songs even after the departure of bassist Brian Bonini (they are still in search of a replacement for Brian) and will be back to work on those songs once again in winter '08-'09....we also would like to add that plans are in the works to have original drummer Tad Leger drumming on one of the new tracks as well!!
"The band hopes to have these songs ready for release in late 2009.
"Stay tuned on MySpace for a teaser trailer from 'This is Toxik', the official documentary shot and produced by Marabella Productions in New York City!!
"Plans are underway now for an all-new DVD release directly from the bandmembers in 2009 which will include live footage from New York in the early stages of the band before the 'World Circus' release, live clips from the 'Think This' tour, a full reunion and history documentary of the band complete with interviews from many of the members....and the DVD will be capped off with MP3 releases of the ALL-NEW material currently being worked on and written!!!"
